Structure of the iTiD INDEX

The INDEX is a set of indices which is comprised of 10 categories which are common to any development process.

The breadth of ITI's consulting experience enables the definition of these common processes.
Engineering
  • Planning: 7 indices
  • Concept Design: 7 indices
  • Detail Design: 11 indices
  • Preparation: 2 indices
  • Evaluation/Verification: 7 indices
Organization/Management
  • Teamwork: 6 indices
  • Technology Development: 4 indices
  • Product Strategy: 2 indices
  • Project Planning/Management: 14 indices
  • Process Management: 4 indices
Each of the 64 processes are dissected by 3 axes.
Execution rates the quality of process execution.
Definition rates how well each process is defined as a common rule or guideline of an organization.
Infrastructure and supporting system is identified for 14 processes. In these processes, IT systems are commonly adopted to ensure quality of execution.
We ask engineers to reply to the survey by rating questions from 1 to 5.
The score for each of the indices is derived by processing each answer statistically.
