Benchmarking Product Deveropement Capabilities

ITID is pleased to annouce the release of "White Paper on Product Development Capabilities FY2008 Edition -International Comparison of Development Capabilities". This time, we expanded ITID INDEX survey to enterprises located in North America and Europe to meet the demands for global benchmarking. A total of 31 companies particiapted in the survey and the "International Comparison of Development Capabilitites" are discussed in the white paper through the survey data from 480 people at these companies as well as last year's survey data from Japan. We wish that real enhancements of product development in the world are pursued and realized through this study.

Product development white paper 2012 Excerpts

80-company and about 10,000 engineer results of an investigation "Product development white paper 2012 Excerpts" were published.

This white paper summarizes the results of the "Development Capability Survey" conducted by ITID Consulting from 2010 to 2011.

The goal of the Development Capability Survey is to grasp the state of the manufacturing industry. This survey utilizes the Index developed by ITID in order to quantitatively measure Product development capabilities. The first survey was held in fiscal 2004, the second in fiscal 2007, and this, the third survey, saw the participation of nearly twice the number of targets as the previous survey, with 600 projects and 9,000 individuals. This survey utilizes an additional "Ability of Engineer index" developed in order to visualize not only development processes, but also the characteristics of developers and technical personnel actions. Doing so has made it possible to survey both processes and people for the first time.
